Jack Grealish elogia Bruno Fernandes dopo la vittoria contro Aston Villa, mentre Michael Carrick sottolinea l'importanza di mantenere il giocatore al Manchester United, nonostante l'interesse dalla Saudi Pro League.

Jack Grealish praised Manchester United's attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes during his performance against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Michael Carrick emphasized that co-owners INEOS cannot afford to lose Fernandes this summer. Following a defeat to Newcastle United, Manchester United secured a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes played a crucial role for Manchester United by providing two assists, enhancing the team's chances of securing a Champions League spot next season. Fernandes has achieved 100 career assists for the club, surpassing Sir David Beckham's record with 16 assists in a single Premier League season.

During the match between Manchester United and Villa, the 31-year-old Portugal international attacking midfielder received praise from both fans and fellow players. Jack Grealish expressed his admiration by posting on Instagram in the 74th minute, describing the Man Utd star as an "absolutely unbelievable footballer man."

Currently, the England international forward is sidelined due to an injury.

Grealish, on loan to Everton from Manchester City since summer 2025, sustained a season-ending foot fracture in January 2026.

The future of Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United remains uncertain beyond this season. Although the former Sporting CP player is contracted with the club until 2027, there exists an option to extend his stay by an additional year.

Interest in Fernandes from Saudi Pro League clubs has emerged, but Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has emphasized to INEOS the necessity of keeping Fernandes on the team next season, regardless of Carrick's future role.

Carrick mentioned to Man Utd's official website that he finds it challenging to be too involved with the club's progression when discussing its future direction.

Bruno is clearly someone we do not want to lose, I can confirm that.

Carrick expressed his views on Fernandes' performance against Villa, noting that "Bruno has done it for a long period of time now in the big moments, making the difference, whether he's scoring or creating, he's normally around it." Carrick also highlighted the challenges of planning for the long term while stressing Fernandes' significance to the team and the desire to retain him.

Reflecting on the day's events, it was clear that the goals achieved were quite distinct. The player demonstrated a solid understanding with Case, particularly when collaborating with Jonny Evans during set-plays. This synergy, partly coachable and partly reliant on player intuition, showed their strong connection, having executed similar plays successfully before, which was commendable.

It was that familiar sequence again, with all the passing and moving into the right spots to deliver that decisive pass, and then he sets Ben up perfectly afterward.

Honestly, there's not much new to say about Bruno that I haven't mentioned before, but he was really good. Plus, it was a solid team performance overall, which was great to see.
