Da Pantilimon a Kalvin Phillips, ecco la lista dei giocatori che, pur avendo contribuito poco, si sono ritrovati con una medaglia da vincitori della Premier League al collo.

Here we go.

# These lads might be among the worst title winners, but they all have at least one more Premier League medal than us. And Steven Gerrard.

320 players earned Premier League medals. But let's be honest, some barely earned it.

These are the guys who made the most of a good situation. The ones who got a Premier League winners' medal... possibly by accident.

These days it is now five appearances for a medal. Unless you're Kalvin Phillips and your manager feels guilty for ruining your career...

## Goalkeeper: Costel Pantilimon (Manchester City)

Pantilimon? He managed seven league appearances in 2013-14 for Manchester City.

After leaving City, he went on to play for Sunderland, Watford, and Nottingham Forest. He bounced around.

## Right-back: Ritchie De Laet (Leicester City)

De Laet played 12 games in Leicester's miraculous 2015-16 title-winning season. Then he was loaned out to Middlesbrough in January.

He also had a stint at Manchester United earlier in his career.

## Centre-half: Eliaquim Mangala (Manchester City)

City shelled out £42million for Mangala. Did he live up to the price tag?

Probably not.

He made 28 appearances in their 2017-18 title-winning year. He was... fine.

## Centre-back: Igor Stepanovs (Arsenal)

Remember him?

Stepanovs featured in Arsenal's 2001-02 title-winning squad, making 10 appearances. Not bad.

## Left-back: Alex Buttner (Manchester United)

Buttner? Sir Alex Ferguson said, "Alexander is one of the best young left-backs in Europe," when United signed him in 2012.

And yet...

In 2017, three years after leaving United for Dynamo Moscow, Buttner made a point: "Who can say that he has been a champion in England? I can. Even Steven Gerrard did not succeed."

## Central midfield: Darron Gibson (Manchester United)

Gibson managed five appearances in United's 2010-11 title-winning season.

He later moved to Everton. Did his career ever really take off?

## Kalvin Phillips: Accidental Champion?

Guardiola stated how sorry he was for the situation Phillips found himself in. It took around 10 minutes to decide he didn't fancy his £40million new signing from Leeds in 2022.

Phillips logged just 161 minutes in City's title-winning season. A Premier League winner, nonetheless.

## Central midfield: Jack Rodwell (Manchester City)

Rodwell. Marco Gabbiadini called signing him for Sunderland '\'the worst mistake the club has ever made\'.'

Ouch.

He played just three games for Man City in their 2013-14 title-winning season.

## Shinji Kagawa: What Could Have Been?

Kagawa showed flashes of brilliance. He made 20 appearances and scored six goals in United's 2012-13 title-winning campaign.

Was he a star? No. But he contributed more than some others on this list.

## Striker: Christopher Wreh (Arsenal)

Wreh played a small part in Arsenal's 1997-98 title-winning season.

Scoring one goal in 11 appearances across three seasons.

## Striker: Jeremie Aliadiere (Arsenal)

Aliadiere. Another Arsenal player.

He featured in one game during the "Invincibles" season of 2003-04. 108 minutes, a medal.

So, did these players deserve their medals? Maybe not. But they've got them. And you don't.
