Elliot Anderson has covered more ground than any other player in the Premier League this season, topping a list featuring two Arsenal stars…
The Forest midfielder is attracting interest from both Manchester clubs, with United especially keen to replace the departing Casemiro.
If United need more convincing, they could look at the total distance covered stats courtesy of our friends at Gradient Sports.
Here are the top 10 players that have covered most total distance in the Premier League this season…
10) Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) – 344km
Gibbs-White’s energy is just one of the traits Manchester City were said to be prepared to pay big money for. He just needs to hope that Thomas Tuchel is as impressed.
9) Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool) – 346km
Liverpool’s best player this season by a million miles has also run 17 miles further than any Reds team-mate, with Ryan Gravenberch next among Arne Slot’s most industrious.
9) Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) – 347km
Two of Bowen’s three busiest performances of the season came in March, running around 11km against Fulham and Manchester City while West Ham attempt to graft their way to safety.
8) Declan Rice (Arsenal) – 350km
Bowen cracked the 12km barrier once this season against Manchester City at the Emirates. Running 11.37km at the Etihad was his fourth-highest distance in a Premier League game this season.
7) Sander Berge (Fulham) – 351km
The Fulham midfielder is getting around – but at his own pace. Berge has covered less ground with sprints or at high speed than anyone on this list while screening Marco Silva’s defence.
6) Ethan Ampadu (Leeds United) – 352km
Age 25, approaching his peak with more experience than many of a similar age… we’re not sure why the Leeds skipper isn’t linked more often with the bigger clubs.
5) Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal) – 353km
Zubimendi chooses a slow and steadier approach to Rice, getting around in his own sweet time. Rice has done 36km at more than 20km/h compared to Zubimendi’s 26.6km.
4) Adrian Truffert (Bournemouth) 357km
The Bournemouth left-back has covered most distance in sprints (over 25km/h) and most at high speed (between 20-25km/h).
3) Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) – 369km
If Thomas Tuchel is looking for more reasons to pick Rogers over Jude Bellingham, the stats back up the Villa midfielder’s claim to be the more athletic of the pair, even if the difference between La Liga and the Premier League perhaps make it an unfair comparison.
2) James Garner (Everton) – 370km
The 24-year-old’s engine means he can slot into the busiest positions on the pitch – centre-midfield and full-back. We thought United made a mistake letting Garner leave so easily. They could use him now.
1) Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest) – 372km
Manchester United may or may not be dazzled by Anderson’s energy but here’s another chart to knock Jason Wilcox’s socks off…
